Project

Positive Action for Development (PAD), in partnership with Save the Children (SCI), successfully hosted a stakeholder engagement and coordination event at the PAD Sekota Coordination Office, bringing together zonal and woreda-level officials, frontline child protection structures, and representatives from 12 project kebeles.

The event aimed to strengthen collaboration, ownership, and active participation among stakeholders—an essential step toward ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of child protection services at community level.

Key Highlights of the Event

  • Opening of a Reading Corner: A newly established Reading Corner was inaugurated at the Sekota Town Child-Friendly Space (CFS), providing children with a safe and supportive environment that promotes intellectual development, emotional wellbeing, and a love for learning.

  • Support to Vital Registration Services: PAD distributed 15 desktop computers along with essential stationery to three woredas and 12 kebeles, enhancing the capacity of local offices to improve civil documentation and vital event registration services.

  • Family Tracing and Reunification (FTR) Support: Complete FTR kits were provided to 55 caregivers supporting 79 unaccompanied children in Sekota Town, strengthening family-based care and protection mechanisms.

Through these coordinated interventions, PAD continues to promote dignity, protection, and opportunity for children, caregivers, and communities. The initiative reflects PAD’s ongoing commitment to its guiding principle—“Spread Love & Humanity”—and its vision of ensuring that no child is left behind.
